OUR MISSION
By consistently providing the highest quality of entertainment to our clients, we will add exemplary value to our client’s properties and events.
Shortly after receiving her B.S. in Medical Technology from the University of Wisconsin at Madison, Janet Ten Pas relocated to Los Angeles to study acting, voice and dance, and eventually became a performer in production shows. Janet was encouraged by fellow performers who believed she could create high quality productions that they would be happy to work in under her direction. Janet pursued this ideal, and ALTRU ENTERTAINMENT, INC. was incorporated on June 15, 1994 by Janet Ten Pas-Harper. With the help of Harvard MBA CJ Wilson to create the production show “THEATRIX”, the business primarily provided entertainment for selected corporate and special events in Las Vegas, doing business as Dream Productions in a part time fashion. Altru won a contract with the Westward Ho Hotel & Casino, and co-produced HIGH COUNTRY ROCK. Altru solely produced Shake, Rattle & Rock also for the Westward Ho Hotel & Casino for two years. Altru was added to the MGM Mirage system as an entertainment vendor, providing entertainment for special events, including Art Vargas and the Fabulous Vargas Girls. Altru dropped the DBA Dream Productions, and at the Riviera Hotel & Casino, produced GOIN’ COUNTRY for a seasonal run. That same year, Altru also won a contract to provide open casino entertainment for the Riviera Hotel & Casino, which ran six days per week for eighteen months, and included great performers such as, Corrie Sachs, Les McKinney, Eric Martin, Herb Rawlings, Junior Brantley and Dean Zeligman. Altru also produced The Bluzmen at the Riviera Hotel & Casino for a twelve week dinner and show run. Altru promoted and produced The Bluzmen at the famous Genesee Theater in Waukegan, Illinois. Altru Entertainment, Inc. continues to provide entertainment to corporate and casino audiences. Altru pursues all possible avenues of increasing client base and winning entertainment contracts including casino theaters in the U.S. and abroad, convention & corporate meeting entertainment, cruise ships, and other theatrical venues and opportunities.
